The 150th anniversary of Alexander Spendiaryan is included in the UNESCO Calendar

The 150th anniversary of Armenian composer Alexander Spendiaryan is included in the UNESCO Calendar of anniversaries of eminent personalities and important events for the 2020-2021cycle.  

The nominations submitted by the Republic of Armenia with the support of Iran, Russia, and Georgia have been approved by the Organization. 100th anniversary of famous French film director of Armenian descent  Henri Verneuil also included in the Calendar.  

Since 1998 twenty-three anniversaries submitted by the Republic of Armenia have been included in the UNESCO Calendar of anniversaries of eminent personalities and important events. 150th anniversaries of Komitas and Hovhannes Tumanyan submitted by the Republic of Armenia were included in the Calendar for the 2018-2019 cycle.
