Events dedicated to A. Spendiaryan's 150th anniversary will be held throughout 2021
"The events of Spendiaryan's jubilee program are divided into several groups, first of all, including conferences and sessions. On April 15 in the house museum was held "A. Spendiaryan-150 "conference, which was attended by musicologists, students and researchers of music schools of Armenia and Artsakh. The international scientific session entitled "Spendiaryan-150" is planned to be held on October 7-8, 2021 in Yerevan, in collaboration with the Institute of Art of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia and the Composers Union of Armenia, "said the director of the museum Marine Otaryan, adding that the geography of the international conference will be quite expanded.
According to the director, in 2020 the museum carried out a large-scale collection of materials. In collaboration with the Central Archive of Crimea, the History Museum of Kakhovka, the Central Library of St. Petersburg, the Rimsky Korsakov Museum, the Institute of Art History of Russia, the Chekhov House-Museum, numerous amount of materials related to Spendiaryan were listed. In cooperation with the Y.Charents Museum of Literature and Art, the Spendiaryan Fund digitized 3090 units of museum value, mainly on paper. The collected materials will be published on a multi-volume album under the auspices of UNESCO, which will also include a CD where Spendiaryan's symphony and works of other genres will be included. The recording and release will be performed by the State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia.
Referring to the concert programs, Otaryan said that the symphony orchestra had a concert dedicated to the composer in May.
The official start of the jubilee events was given on June 15 with a big symphony concert. For the first time in the foyer of the concert hall, the Spendiarafon musical instrument belonging to Spendiaryan was displayed. Also. a two-day open-air festival is planned in Gyumri on September 4-5, "Spendiaryan Days" will be organized in Tumanyan's house in Tbilisi on September 20-25, celebrations and many events are expected in Theodosia (Crimea), in the second week of September. A concert exhibition is planned in London in October under the auspices of the RA Embassy. The director of Spendiaryan House-Museum Marine Otaryan will deliver a lecture at the event. Also, events in Iran are planned as well.
