A street named after Khachatur Avetisyan in Gyumri
2021 marks the 95th birth anniversary and the 25th death anniversary of the composer, canonist Khachatur Avetisyan. Gyumri State Orchestra of Folk Instruments (since 2005) and Gyumri Music School No. 7 (since 1996) have been named after Khachatur Avetisyan.
Considering the great merit of Khachatur Avetisyan in the development of Armenian music, the composer's big love to his hometown, the great love, and gratitude of the people of Gyumri, as well as the composer's family members, sons Grigor and Mikael application, by the decision of Gyumri Community Council of September 14, 2021, the street in front of Avetisyan Music School No. 7, from Lalayan Street to Lisinyan Street, has been named after Khachatur Avetisyan, Culture and Youth Affairs Department of Gyumri Municipality reports.
