Armenian musicians succeeded in Rachmaninoff Competition
S. Rachmaninoff International Competition dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the great composer culminated in Moscow Conservatory Concert Hall. The prestigious jury consisted of famous composers, conductors, and pianists, including Denis Matsuev, Valery Gergiev, Yuri Bashmet, Freddie Kempf, as well as the Armenian composer Mikhail Kokzhaev.

By the decision of the jury, Gurgen Petrosyan and Philip Selivanov from Russia have been recognized as the best in the nomination of "Conducting". Besides, our compatriots also stood out in the "Piano" nomination. Three Armenian musicians representing Russia shared the third prize. They are Ilya Papoyan, Konstantin Khachikyan and Eva Govorgyan. In the second round of the competition, the pianists presented Rachmaninoff's romances, sung by young opera singers. Young soprano Lilit Davtyan was awarded a special prize by the jury for the best performance of the composer's romances.
