They didn't think about getting expensive things: they were looking for treasures in their souls
RA Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Alfred Kocharyan visited the house museum of Lusine Zakaryan, a People's artist of the Armenian SSR, performer of Armenian spiritual songs.
The head of the Cultural Heritage Department Astghik Marabyan accompanied him.
Alfred Kocharyan, the Deputy Minister of CGMS, noted that cooperation with private museums is key for the RA government to promote the sector, implement new ideas, and popularize museums as much as possible among the public. According to him, familiarization visits to private museums also have that purpose.
"Lusine Zakaryan is one of the most prominent figures of Armenian singing, who has conquered world stages. And we attach great importance to the fact that the house-museum, as the primary environment telling about his vivid biography and activities, should be known and recognizable to the public," said Alfred Kocharyan.
The head of the museum, Susanna Davtyan, presented episodes from the life of Lusine Zakaryan, and staff exhibited in the museum. Speaking about Lusine Zakaryan and her husband Khoren Palyan, Susanna Davtyan noted. "Something is shown, almost all of them are gifts: they didn't think about getting expensive things. They were looking for treasures in their souls."
The deputy minister of KGSM also referred to the recently approved "Museums" law, stressing that adopting the law will ensure the coordinated activity of cultural heritage protection, expand opportunities, and increase the sector's efficiency.
Within the framework of the visit, the parties discussed issues related to increasing the visibility of the museum, preservation of the museum environment, possible cooperation with the state.
It should be noted that Lusine Zakaryan's house museum was opened in 2019 at 42/3 Koghbatsi Street.
