Composers Union of Armenia celebrates it's 90th anniversary
The jubilee festival dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Composers Union of Armenia launched on May 19. The evening was attended by RA Minister of ESCS Vahram Dumanyan and Deputy Minister Ara Khzmalyan.
The opening concert of the festival took place in the renovated concert hall of the Composers' Union. The Vanadzor State Chamber Orchestra (artistic director, conductor: Ruben Asatryan), Yerjan State Chamber Choir (artistic director, conductor: Christina Voskerchyan), as well as Armine Grigoryan (piano), Karen Shahgaldyan (violin) Daniel Melkonyan (trumpet), Anahit Dilbaryan (piano), Hovhannes Manukyan (organ), Grigor Arakelyan (Armenian viola) performed during the concert, as well as the history of the Composers' Union was presented.
Welcoming the guests, CUA President Aram Satian emphasized․ "During these years, a big history has been created, a history that brings honor to both our state and our people."
Works by Aram Khachaturian, Edward Mirzoyan, Ghazaros Saryan, Edgar Hovhannisyan, Makar Ekmalyan, Grigor Arakelyan, Konstantin Petrosyan, Haykuhi Hakobyan, Komitas/Aslamazyan, Yeranyan/Satian were performed during the evening.
Deputy Minister of Education and Science Ara Khzmalyan also sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of the 90th anniversary.
