7 concerts to be held within "Crossroads: Contemporary music days in Armenia"
This year "Crossroads: Contemporary music days in Armenia" international festival will be held on April 3-26. Organized for the 6th time, the festival will present concerts in Yerevan and Gyumri.

"Crossroads is the only contemporary music festival in Armenia, which includes a large number of new and significant works of modern academic music. Moreover, most of them are performed for the first time, that is, the festival is a stage for Armenian and world premieres. The festival always aims to ensure the spread and development of contemporary music in Armenia. Therefore, in different years,  Armenian premieres of many new works were included in the festival program, the performance of which was entrusted to the only contemporary music ensemble in Armenia, "Asonance", - the initiator of the festival "QuarterTone" cultural NGO representatives note.

Every year, the program makes an opportunity for the Armenian music-loving society to be constantly informed about the developments and trends of contemporary modern classical music, and also contributes to the creation of new works.

Within the festival, 7 concerts will be organized at "Arno Babajanyan" concert hall, Komitas Museum-Institute, Gafesjian Art Center, AGBU Armenia hall, and Gyumri Technological Center hall. Pianist and composer Yves Egoyan (Canada), pianists Hayk Melikyan (Armenia) and Laurence Mkhitaryan (Belgium), the Ensemble Asonance(Armenia) and students of the Yerevan State Conservatory will perform at the festival.

Masterclasses and seminars are also planned within the festival, through which students of the conservatory and other musical institutions develop their worldview, abilities to analyze music, and the secrets of perception. There will be a master class by composer Yuri Kasparov (Russian Federation) and a seminar with the participation of musicologist and sound theorist Gashia Uzunyan (United Kingdom).
The full program of the festival will be announced soon.

The festival is supported by the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and Culture and the "Arno Babajanyan" concert hall.
