Facebook is adding the option to charge for access to live stream concerts
Facebook will soon let
streamers charge for broadcast.
Today thousands of artists are financially affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Almost everywhere concerts are postponed which has cut off a source of revenue for musicians. Facebook is now set to provide a new way for performers to earn money on their platform. The social networking service is adding this option for people to charge for access to events with Facebook Live streams.
“To support creators and small businesses, we plan to add the ability for Pages to charge for access to events with Live videos on Facebook – anything from online performances to classes to professional conferences”, the announcement reads.
