Komitas National Quartet will be included in the National Chamber Music Center
From now on, the Komitas National Quartet will be included in the "National Chamber Music Center" NSCO.
According to the ESCS Ministry, being included in the National Chamber Music Center, the Komitas National Quartet acquires much more favorable conditions for rehearsals and concert activities, without additional payment. The quartet doesn't have its own concert hall, the rehearsals were taking place at Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory. The quartet's activity is hampered by problems with organizing concerts, running a ticket office, permanent rehearsal room, and renting halls.
According to the Ministry, the unification will contribute to a common policy in the chamber genre, as the State Chamber Orchestra of Armenia, the State Chamber Choir of Armenia, the Tagaran Ensemble of Ancient Music, and Yerevan State Chamber Choir, and the Hover State Chamber Choir already operates under the National Chamber Music Center and has an administrative and technical staff.
