Biography

Was born in 1988 in Yerevan. After being graduated from Geneva Conservatory (prof. Michel Bellavance) Narek is currently taking part in concert activities in Armenia and abroad.

Narek Avagyan's fresh musical ideas, pure sound and virtuosity were highly appreciated by such musicians as Sir James Galway, Eric Gaudibert and others.

At the moment he is the principal flute of the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra and as an orchestral soloist, he performs under the baton of Alain Altinoglu, Antony Wit, Lior Shambadal, Manuel Hernandez da Silva and other great conductors.

He is the guest of the best concert halls in Great Britain, Switzerland (Victoria Hall), USA (Los Angeles Walt Disney Hall), Denmark (DR Konzerthuset), Poland (Warsaw National Philharmonia), Russia (St. Petersburg Mariinsky Theater), France, Germany, Norway, Finland, Greece and Mexico.

Narek took special courses in baroque music at Geneva Conservatory with prof. Serge Saitta often performs on period instruments. He is also the first performer of a number of Armenian and foreign contemporary composers, such as Eric Gaudibert, Johan Treichel, etc.
