Mozart 265: Svetlana Navasardyan and  "Armenian" String Quartet
On March 29, at 7:00 pm at the Komitas Chamber Music Hallrenowned pianist Svetlana Navasardyan and  "Armenian" String Quartet will perform a concert dedicated to Mozart's 265th birthday. The program includes works by W.A. Mozart. 

Svetlana Navassardian is the winner of four International Competitions: Schumann Competition in 1966; Bach Competition in 1968; Queen Elisabeth Competition in 1972; Sydney Competition in 1977. “The great Armenian pianist”, as she was called by the international press, performed in more than forty countries including USA, Canada, Great Britain, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Greece, Japan, China, Australia, Egypt, Kuwait. She participated in International Festivals in Echternach (Luxembourg), Tours, Venice, Paris, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Potsdam, Sapporo, Granada. Navasardyan was distinguished as People's Artist of the Armenian SSR in 1984 and was awarded an Armenian SSR State Prize four years later. She is a professor at the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan. 

The "Armenian" string quartet (Astghik Vardanyan (violin), Razmik Hovhannisyan (violin), Vahagn Yeghishyan (viola), and Hakob Atyan (cello) was founded in 2018.  The quartet debuted in a charity concert series entitled "Light in the Eyes of an Armenian" in support of the "Armenian Eye Care Program" charity foundation.
