NCOA and Levon Chilingirian Present Concert Honoring Anahit Tsitsikyan's Centenary
On June 11, the National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia presented a special concert dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Anahit Tsitsikyan, the first internationally acclaimed Armenian violinist and distinguished professor.
The concert was conducted by renowned musician, violinist Levon Chilingirian, founder of the Chilingirian String Quartet and Professor at the Royal Academy of Music in London, who also performed as the soloist.
At the beginning of the evening, musicologist Olya Nurijanyan reflected on Anahit Tsitsikyan's life, career, and musical legacy.
The program featured works by Felix Mendelssohn, Henry Purcell, Nikos Skalkottas, Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Ludwig van Beethoven.
Among the guests in attendance was Anahit Tsitsikyan's daughter.
