Andranik Berberyan composed the music for the opening ceremony of the 60th European Karate Senior Championship
The music for the opening ceremony of the 60th European Karate Senior Championship to be held in Yerevan was composed by composer and music producer Andranik Berberyan. The European Karate Championship will be held at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex from May 7-11. About 1,000 athletes from 54 countries participated in the championship. Many high-ranking officials and honored guests from different countries arrived in Yerevan to participate in the championship.

“I am glad that the cooperation between Berberyan Studios and Background production, represented by Vazgen Poghosyan, continues. I am glad to collaborate with the creative team, in the person of director Naire Stepanyan, director-choreographer Hovhannes Sargsyan and visual content producer Vahan Hovhannisyan, along with sound artist Tigran Kuzikyan, always bringing the most interesting emotions to the project.
It was interesting to reflect on the European Karate Senior Championship this time, as it is an important event, both in its scale and symbolic significance. It was important for me that the music reflect the psychological tension and solemnity of that sport. This project also allows us to create a unique musical approach that will reflect the essence of the given project, also having a direct connection with all the elements of the performance,” - Andranik Berberyan noted.

This is not the first time Berberyan has composed music for a large-scale project. In 2021, he wrote a composition specially written for the event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Armenia, and in 2022, the music for the visual material of Armenia's participation in the Dubai Expo, and in 2023, the music for the opening ceremony of the European Weightlifting Championship. In 2024, Berberyan authored the music for the gala concert of the 33rd Annual Meeting and Business Forum of the EBRD, the music for the opening ceremony of the "Khazer" Armenian Music Awards, and wrote a composition that is the main musical theme and fanfare of the awards ceremony.
Berberyan was recently awarded the "Composer of the Year" award at the "Khazer" Armenian Music Awards.
