Armenian baritone Aksel Daveyan wins the second prize at Queen Sonja Singing Competition
Queen Sonja Singing Competition culminated in Oslo, Norway. By the decision of the jury, Aksel Daveyan, a baritone from Armenia took second place. Another Armenian baritone Navasard Hakobyan has also been among the finalists of this prestigious contest. Americal contralto Jasmin White emerged as the winner of this year's competition, while Nils Wanderer, countertenor from Germany secured the third place. 

The 2023 Queen Sonja Singing Competition tool place in Oslo from 15 – 26 August. The Oslo National Academy of the Arts hosted the preliminary rounds featuring 40 singers, and the semi-final showcasing 12 singers. The final concert with six finalists was held at The Norwegian Opera & Ballet.
