An international festival dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Aram Khachaturian held in Russia
From May 15, the international festival dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the world-famous composer Aram Khachaturian was held in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
The festival was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Armenia, at the initiative of the Sverdlovsk State Academic Philharmonic, in collaboration with the Aram Khachaturian House-Museum and the Khachaturian Trio.
The participation of the Aram Khachaturian Trio in the festival is included in the series of jubilee events for the 120th anniversary of the birth of Aram Khachaturian approved by the RA Government and was carried out by the state program of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Armenia.
For five days in Yekaterinburg, Aram Khachaturian's symphonic and chamber works were performed, covering the entire creative path of the famous composer, starting from his student years to his last sonata written for viola.
The Ural Philharmonic and Youth Orchestras, the Khachatryan Trio, and famous musicians-performers of Russia and Armenia presented Aram Khachaturian's most performed, as well as lesser-known works.
On the Aram Khachaturian House-Museum initiative and in cooperation with the Sverdlovsk State Academic Philharmonic, an exhibition was also opened, where unique documents and photographs were presented. A series of films about the composer accompanied the performance.
