Hovik Sardaryan awarded one of the most prestigious prizes in classical music
Armenian composer Hovik Sardaryan has been awarded one of the most prestigious international honors in classical music — the Ernst von Siemens Music Composer Prize. 

The Ernst von Siemens Music Prize was established in 1972 by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation and is awarded to internationally acclaimed composers, conductors, performers, and musical figures for their outstanding contribution to the art of music.

In addition to the main prize, the Foundation supports young composers and contemporary music projects worldwide.

Among the recipients of the Ernst von Siemens Music Prize are renowned composers Benjamin Britten, Olivier Messiaen, Leonard Bernstein, and György Ligeti․
