The first concert "Undiscovered Europe" project is dedicated to French music
Cantata Cultural NGO presents a unique project entitled "Undiscovered Europe." The first concert of the project will be held on April 21, 7 p.m. at Arno Babajanyan Concert Hall and is dedicated to Francophonie Days. Varsenik Avanyan, soloist of A. Spendiaryan Opera and Ballet Theater will perform under the accompaniment of pianist Yelena Vardazaryan. Stage director: Aram Sukiasyan, RA Honored art worker.

The concert features music from the Impressionism era in all shades. This era is famous for not only painting but also for music, which is not well known. Ravel’s "Sheherezade", "Pavane", "Famous Songs", "Greek Songs", H. Berlioz’s "Villanelle", G. Foure’s "Adagietto" and C. Debussy’s "Dream" will be performed within the concert.

Ravel’s "Sheherezade" reflects the aura of Arabic fairytales, colors, and shades. The piece is based on T. Klingsor’s same-name poetry and inspired by Rimsky-Korsakov’s suit.

"Famous songs" (arrangements of folk songs) include French, Italian, Jewish, and Spanish songs written in local dialects, and "Greek songs" in French. "Villanelle" is based on T. Gaultier’s poetry ("Summer Nights")․

The project is implemented with the support of the RA ESCS Ministry and with the partnership of the State Philharmonia.
