Grand tour of ANPO in China
The Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra led by Eduard Topchjan, has returned from a magnificent tour of the People's Republic of China. The orchestra gave nine performances in famous Chinese music halls, six entirely sold out.
The tour was hosted by the Armstrong Poly Music Agency, which operates under official patronage in China and organizes the most prominent events in China's greatest concert halls.
The National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia performed concerts on December 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, 28, 29, 31, 2023 at the following venues: Shanghai Grand Theater (Shanghai), Zhuzhou Shennong Grand Theater (Zhuzhou), and Changsha. Concert Hall (Changsha), Qianjnang Caoyu Grand Theater (Qianjiang), Guangxi Culture and Art Centre (Guangzhou), Changshu Grand Theater (Changshu), Baoji Grand Theater (Baoqi), Shanxi Grand Theater (Shanxi), and Shenyang Shengjing Grand Theater.
The concert programs featured works by Aram Khachatryan, Tchaikovsky, Johann Strauss, Brahms, Andrew Webb-Mitchell, Rossini, Puccini, and Bizet. The National Philharmonic was joined by renowned Irish pianist Barry Douglas, Chinese violinist Rei Zhang, Chinese vocalist Constance Xue, and the Zhuhai Classical Children's Choir. Eduard Topchjan led all concerts.
