"Talent Fund": The ANPO and the "Keron" Foundation signed a memorandum of cooperation
The Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra and the Keron Development Foundation signed a memorandum of cooperation today at the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall. According to the memorandum, highly qualified specialists will be invited to Armenia under the “Talent Fund” program of the “Keron” Foundation to work with the orchestra and contribute to the development of the field through their experience.
The document was signed by Norayr Nazaryan, Director of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia, and Vanane Ararktsyan, Executive Director of the “Keron” Development Foundation.
The event was attended by Daniel Danielyan, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, along with Eduard Topchyan, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia.
Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Daniel Danielyan, welcomed the attendees and congratulated the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia and the “Keron” Foundation for laying a significant foundation for cooperation. According to the Deputy Minister, this represents another successful and effective step in state-private partnerships, being implemented by the orchestra and the foundation operating under the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports.
“There is a will and desire to solve deep-rooted problems here, namely, ensuring the process of developing and strengthening human capital in our country, a vision that is shared by the state and the “Keron” Foundation. We are very happy that the beginning of this cooperation is being laid within the framework of the 100th anniversary of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia. We wish that in the next 100 years, the orchestra will be even higher in quality and resilience. We extend our gratitude to the orchestra, dear Maestro Topchyan, and the foundation for presenting this gift to our society. As we work on developing and ensuring the quality of human resources, we aim to serve our society. It is wonderful that the memorandum is being signed on the roof of one of the main halls of our country, the “Aram Khachaturian” Concert Hall. "The state's agenda is to make such structures more attractive and hospitable for the music-loving public and guests of the capital," said Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Daniel Danielyan, wishing the parties successful and continuous cooperation.
According to Norayr Nazaryan, director of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia, such initiatives are very important not only for the orchestra but also for the Republic of Armenia. "With this step, those programs that carry an idea and value in themselves continue to be brought to life. They must be continuous. I express my gratitude to the "Keron" Foundation. I am confident that we will successfully implement what we have planned for the next five years, which the public will definitely witness. The musicians who will be invited from abroad will fill the vacant positions in the orchestra. We, in turn, will ensure that they transfer their experience and skills to young Armenian musicians, who will both replenish the ranks of the Philharmonic musicians and, in general, raise the level of performing arts in Armenia, popularizing it throughout the world.”
Vanane Ararktsyan, Executive Director of the Keron Development Foundation, added that with a one-year history, the foundation has adopted a policy of changing the environment in Armenia in five strategic directions.
“One of the directions is art and culture, and it is a great honor and responsibility for us to cooperate with such a century-old structure that creates value not only within our country but also contributes to the promotion of Armenia abroad. I hope and am sure that this cooperation will be truly beneficial for our country, and the years to come, we will enjoy its results,” said Vanane Ararktsyan, Executive Director of the Keron Development Foundation.
Concluding the meeting, Eduard Topchyan, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia, noted that the orchestra’s performance quality is currently at a fairly high level but that the aspirations are higher. “Now I must return to the origins of education. Until 2000-2005, there was a strong string school in Armenia, thanks to which the string ensembles of the orchestras played well. The brass school has always lagged behind the string school. Over the years, we have been trying to gradually create this, as we wanted to keep pace with orchestras worldwide. Now we are in dire need of five solo musicians: piccolo flute, bassoon, cornet, trumpet, and trombone. With the presence of musicians for these instruments, the performance level of the orchestra will increase even more, and they will teach young people. In the coming years, we will have very skilled wind musicians in Armenia.”
