Armenian violinist Eduard Dayan takes Grand Prix at International String Competition
In Omsk, the 3rd Wilhelm Spaethe Interregional Open Competition for String Instrument Performers took place, bringing together young musicians from various regions.
With support from the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, young Armenian violinist Eduard Dayan participated in the competition.

The event featured three categories — Violin, Viola, and Cello — and attracted over 200 young musicians aged 7 to 23 competing for top prizes.

Eduard Dayan won First Prize in the Violin category and was also awarded the competition’s Grand Prix. He received the Grand Prix after a final selection round among the first-prize winners of all three categories.

During the gala concert, Dayan performed Niccolò Paganini’s Violin Concerto No. 1, accompanied by the Omsk Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of conductor Mikhail Golikov.
Eduard Dayan is a member of the “Meknark” (Start) targeted talent development program and currently studies at Zakhar Bron School of Music in Switzerland.

The Wilhelm Spaethe Interregional Open Competition provides an important platform for the creative growth and professional development of young performers, uniting talented musicians from different regions.
