Armenian pianists awarded Krystian Tkaczewski International Piano Competition prizes
From September 20 to 30, the 6th VI Krystian Tkaczewski International Piano Competition took place in Poland, where Arthur Grigoryan from Armenia won the first prize (Category “Young Artist” up to 19 years old) and Alex Gevorgyan from the third prize (Category " Piano Talents": up to 13 years old).
In addition to the first prize, Arthur was also awarded an East Tennessee State University - Creative Arts Scholarship: It is a four-year scholarship (approx. 19,000 USD per year) to attend ETSU as a freshman (Bachelor of Music) once the award recipient completes the admission process.
This year 260 young pianists from 33 countries took part in the competition.
The jury members of the competition were Krystian Tkaczewski, Vovka Ashkenazy, Rizzo Chung, Michael Berkovsky, Ben Schoeman, Esther Park, Kimberly Chen Afanasova, Kanji Kozuta and Armen Babakhanian.
