Arnold Schoenberg's archive destroyed in Californian fires

Arnold Schoenberg's archive destroyed in Californian fires
A massive fire in California completely burned the Belmont Music Publishers building, destroying renowned composer Arnold Schoenberg's original works as well as all music materials for sale and rent․

Belmont Music Publishers was dedicated to preserving and promoting the works of Austrian composer Arnold Schoenberg. In the early 2000s, some of the composer's archive materials and manuscripts were transferred from California to the Arnold Schoenberg Center in Vienna.

The Belmont Music catalog included Schoenberg's early Romantic works and innovative dodecaphonic compositions. However, Belmont Music Publishers hopes to rebuild our catalog in a digital format that will ensure Schoenberg's music remains accessible for future generations.
