Assonance Ensemble to perform in Ukraine
Despite the wartime situation, Assonance Ensemble is in Ukraine as part of a cultural friendship program.
Today, the preservation of language and the protection of national identity are top priorities for both Ukraine and Armenia. It is in this context that the “Power of the Word” cultural project was launched, aiming to highlight the historical connections between Ukraine and Armenia, deepen cultural ties, and strengthen bilateral diplomatic relations.
The concerts will be held in Lviv, Kyiv, and Odesa, key centers of the Ukrainian-Armenian community.
Project goals include:
fostering cultural diplomacy, challenging stereotypes about Armenia, and showcasing the diversity of contemporary Armenian culture;
creating new platforms for collaboration between Armenian and Ukrainian young artists, and contributing to the international recognition of contemporary music and art.
The concert program will feature works by contemporary Ukrainian, Armenian, and Armenian-French composers, emphasizing the power of words and phonetics.
The “Power of the Word” project will act as a cultural bridge, reinforcing the historic friendship between the peoples and opening new opportunities for bilateral collaboration.
