The 5th Annual International Inclusive Festival “Chakhruk” held in Kharberd
With the financial support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, and at the initiative of the “Chakhruk” NGO, the 5th Annual International Inclusive Festival of National Music for People with Special Needs “Chakhruk” took place in the territory of the Kharberd Specialized Orphanage Garden.
The ideology of the festival is “Physical capabilities are nothing if you do not have a flight of the soul.”
About 370 participants from the regions of the Republic of Armenia, day-care institutions, orphanages, general education and cultural schools, TMAs, non-governmental organizations, support centers, as well as the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Syrian Arab Republic performed at the festival, presenting national culture.
The festival kicked off with musical performances by the “Chakhruk” ethno music group. During the concert, the traditional “Flight of the Soul” canvas was painted by all participants and guests. In addition to musical performances, the participants also presented their handicrafts at the pavilions.
The festival was attended by the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan, the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Srbuhi Galyan, the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia Anahit Manasyan, the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Daniel Danielyan, the Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Tatevik Stepanyan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Republic of Armenia Nora Arisyan, the Advisor to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Armenia Akhmetov Alikhan, high-ranking guests, educators, psychologists. The special guest of the festival was the Vanadzor “Horovel” song and dance ensemble.
The founders of the festival are Anna and Anahit Mkhitaryans, the organizer is the President of the “Chakhruk” NGO Anush Mkhitaryan.
