In Memory of Komitas: Requiem Aeternam
On the Komitas Museum-Institute and Yeghishe Charents House-Museum initiative, a temporary exhibition dedicated to the 125th birthday of Yeghishe Charents will be opened at the Komitas Museum-Institute on May 18, at 6:00 p.m. This exhibition entitled "Dedication to Komitas" reflects Charents-Komitas relations, and will run until May 28. The event is organized within International Museum Day.
Excerpts from the manuscript "In Memory of Komitas: Requiem Aeternam" by Yeghishe Charents, donated by the poet's granddaughter, Gohar Charents will be presented during the exhibition. The painting "Charents and Komitas" by Giotto (Gevorg Grigoryan) will also be exhibited.
On the same day, at 7:00 p.m., a concert with the participation of the soloists of the "Youth Opera Program" of the A. Spendiaryan National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater will be held in the museum's concert hall. Works by Komitas, Vladilen Balyan, Avet Terteryan, Geghuni Chtchyan, Tigran Mansuryan and Robert Amirkhanyan will be performed during the concert. Soloists: Irina Zakyan (RA Honored Artist), Navasard Hakobyan, Silva Petrosyan, Ferdinand Muradyan, Lusine Stepanyan, Ani Ghushchyan, Hasmik Antonyan, Lilit Abovyan, accompanist: Levon Javadyan (The artistic director of the program). The special guest of the concert is the RA People's Artist Robert Amirkhanyan.
