Festival dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Composers Union starts in May
With the support of the RA Ministry of ESCS, on the initiative of the Composers Union of Armenia, the jubilee festival dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Union will start on May 19.

The Deputy Minister congratulated all the members of the Composers' Union on this occasion noted, that the cooperation between the Union and the ministry has intensified, and as a result of that cooperation, the concert hall of the Dilijan Composers' House was renovated, and events regularly take place in the "Beethoven" hall.

"Decentralization of cultural processes is a priority of cultural policy for us. I think we still have a lot to do with that environment. From year to year, we bring the focus of attention to contemporary composers. As you know, this year we have held the Contemporary music festival with the Symphony Orchestra, the strategic emphasis in that festival is becoming more and more clear, "said Ara Khzmalyan. The promotion of the processes will not be limited only to the festival, but the support of the best composers will continue throughout the year, both through information and specific orders, by publishing notes.

Referring to the jubilee festival dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the union, the president of the union Aram Satian noted that the festival will present works of both classical and contemporary composers, most of which will be premieres. The Yerevan State Chamber Choir, Vanadzor State Chamber Orchestra, as well as famous soloists will perform at the opening concert.

An exhibition dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Composers 'Union will be opened in the lobby of the Composers' Union before the concert, within which archival materials related to the Union will be presented together with the National Archives of Armenia. Symphonic, chamber and choral works of Armenian composers will be presented during the jubilee festival until November. "It is planned to hold regional concerts, competitions, and other projects throughout the year, which will be implemented in partnership with the Cultural Foundation of the Composers' Union of Armenia," Aram Satian concluded.
