Concert dedicated to A. Spendiaryan and Arno Babajanyan took place in Vienna's "Antonio-Vivaldi" Hall
On November 6, with the support of the Armenian Embassy in Austria, a jubilee concert dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the great Armenian composer Alexander Spendiaryan and Arno Babajanyan's 100th birthday was held at the "Antonio-Vivaldi" Concert Hall in Vienna.
The concert was organized by the artistic director of the Klingen Chamber Orchestra in London, conductor Sipan Olah, and Austrian-based viola player, and musicologist Gayane Mirzoyan. The purpose of these events after the London concert was to present the heritage of the great Armenian composers in Austria as well.
The concert was attended by the conductor, tenor pianist Sipan Olah (Great Britain), soprano Hayarpi Yeghikyan (Great Britain), soprano Tehmine Schaufer (Austria), mezzo-soprano Teresa Beglaryan, bass Nicolas Legeur, pianist Greta Erharter-Sargsyan, a string quartet with the participation of Felix Harutyunian and Astghik Siradeghyan - violin, Gayane Mirzoyan - viola and Konstantin Zelenin - cello and vocalists.
RA Ambassador to Austria Armen Papikyan thanked the organizers for the initiative, emphasized that the works of these two composers are still alive and passed down from generation to generation. Marine Otaryan, Honored Worker of the Republic of Armenia, Director of the Spendiaryan House-Museum, sent a greeting letter to the participants of the event. The concert was attended by priests from the Armenian Apostolic church and Mekhitarist Congregation, the Austrian music-loving audience.
The day before the concert, on November 5, a lecture dedicated to the 150th birthday of Alexander Spendiaryan and the 100th anniversary of Arno Babajanyan took place in the auditorium of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Austria.
