Concert dedicated to Edward Mirzoyan's 105th anniversary takes place in Yerevan

The State Chamber Orchestra of Armenia held a special concert at the Komitas Chamber Music Hall to mark the 105th anniversary of the birth of People’s Artist of Armenia and the USSR, esteemed composer and cultural figure Edward Mirzoyan. The concert was conducted by Vag Papyan.

Among the attendees were Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia Daniel Danielyan, members of Edward Mirzoyan’s family, diplomats, and representatives of the cultural community.

 

The evening opened with a performance of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major (BWV 1068), one of the most renowned works of the Baroque repertoire.

 

The second part of the program featured Edward Mirzoyan’s Symphony for String Orchestra and Strings, widely recognised as one of the most significant accomplishments of 20th-century Armenian symphonic music.

 

The commemorative concert honoured Mirzoyan’s lasting legacy and his deep contribution to Armenian and global musical culture.
