"Yerevan must also love you"n: Levon Malkhasya
The "Malkhas Jan/Z" concert, organized by the "New Generation" project (founder: Shmavon Grigoryan), will take place on March 16 at the "Aram Khachatryan" concert hall in honor of RA People's Artist Levon Malkhasyan's 79th birthday. Before the concert, the film "Life in Jazz" will be screened, revealing the beloved artist and Yerevan in a new light. Besides the Malkhas Trio and the film screening, the concert will feature special guests.
A press conference with concert organizers and musicians was held on March 12.
Yerevan and Malkhas have a connection and, as the maestro said, "It is not enough to love Yerevan; Yerevan must also love you."
"The idea for the concert arose from the strong response to the previous two concerts, and with the release of the film, we can certainly say that a spectacular jazz evening awaits. And it is a great opportunity after this concert to begin planning for the concert devoted to the maestro's 80th anniversary by inviting well-known and prominent jazz musicians," Shmavon Grigoryan, founder of the "New Generation" project said.
