Muses should help to lift people's spirits: Mariam Shahinyan
On July 7, the Komitas House of Chamber Music hosted the vocal-music evening "The Awakening of the Return". It was organized by the "Arts Gallery" Cultural Fund and the National Chamber Music Center. The purpose of the concert was one: it marked the beginning of the revival of the "Return" festival.

The concert was attended by A. Alina Pahlevanyan (soprano), Lilit Soghomonyan (soprano), soloists of the Spendiryan National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet, and Anna Poghosyan (soprano), lecturer of the Komitas Yerevan State Conservatory. Concertmaster: Honored Artist of the Republic of Armenia Margarit Sargsyan. Over the years, all musicians have collaborated with Mariam Shahinyan in various projects and festivals.

The event opened with a performance of Komitas' composition "Armenia," after which the project's director, Mariam Shahinyan, president of the "Arts Gallery" Cultural Fund, took the stage. "They say that when the cannons sound, the muses go silent." To counter this notion, I would like to emphasize that muses should not be silent; rather, muses should contribute to lifting people's spirits. The Armenian people are creative, and we need a clear sky and faith in the future to do so. That's why I called this concert "Awakening of the Return," because, with this awakening, I wish many returns of our compatriots and the creations they make in our beautiful Armenia," stated the project's leader.

The program included well-known and popular works of Western European, Armenian and Russian composers, as well as many surprises.
