The new Yamaha musical instruments - grand piano, big and small drums, xylophone, bell, tambourine, clavinova, the sound-background system provided to the State Chamber Orchestra of Armenia by the Grassroots grant program of the Government of Japan were presented for the first time during the concert-presentation held at the Komitas Chamber Music Hall on February 11. The State Chamber Orchestra of Armenia under the baton of Robert Mlkeyan and with pianist Svetlana Navasardyan presented Bach's Piano Concerto in D minor and "Carmen" Suite.
The event was attended by the RA Deputy Minister of ESCS Ara Khzmalyan, the Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Armenia Jun Yamada, the director of the National Chamber Music Center Norayr Nazaryan. Before the beginning of the concert, the Ambassador noted that Armenians are one of the most musical nations by its nature; there is no language that unites people more than music.
"It is a great honor for Japan to support the development of musical life in Armenia. The YAMAHA brand embodies the Japanese approach to perfection and constant innovation, and we value the excellent products of that brand. Let's hope that in parallel with the resumption of a full-fledged musical life, Armenia will move forward confidently, overcoming all the difficulties of the previous year. Japan wants to be by Armenia's side in this period of great recovery and new aspirations," he said.
Before the concert, a memorial plaque was unveiled as part of the project: "The project of providing musical instruments to the State Chamber Orchestra of Armenia was implemented by the National Chamber Music Center with the support of the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Armenia within the Grassroots Cultural Grant Program (GCGP)".
