Tribute to Stepan Shakaryan
October 22 is the day of commemoration of Komitas… October 23 is "His" birthday. He, who was calling Komitas his spiritual father, his faith. Composer, brilliant instrumentalist, pianist, author of the brightest musical memories of our childhood, one of the founders of jazz traditions in Armenia, one of the brightest composers of Armenia, beloved musician Stepan Shakaryan.
On October 23, at the 86th birthday of the maestro, a concert entitled "Tribute To Shakaryan" will take place at Ulikhanyan Jazz Club at 8:30 p.m. During the evening, musicologist Rima Tigranyan will present interesting facts about Shakaryan, his role in Armenian music, his human personality, as well as his philosophy of music and precious memories full of Shakarian moods. After the speech, Arm.StrongDixie will present a bright and original concert consisting of the composer's famous works, the instrumentation of which is have done by the composer, musician Dave Gyodakyan.
