French conductor of Armenian descent Alain Altinoglu is nominated for the International Opera Awards in the category of "Best conductor". Riccardo Frizza, Edward Gardner, Oksana Lyniv, Joana Mallwitz, and Kirill Petrenko are among the pretenders of the same category.

Winners will be announced at the International Opera Awards on Monday 4th May at Sadler's Wells.
