The Alexander Spendiaryan National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet, in collaboration with the Yerevan State Choreographic College, is preparing for the premiere of the ballet performance “The Dragonfly and the Ant”.

The joint performance was watched by the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Daniel Danielyan.

After watching the rehearsal, Daniel Danielyan highlighted the fact that the students of the Yerevan State Choreographic College have the opportunity to perform a ballet performance on the stage of the Alexander Spendiaryan National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet.

The ballet performance “The Dragonfly and the Ant” is the first premiere of the Alexander Spendiaryan National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre in 2025. This ballet performance, featuring incredible music by Stepan Lusikyan, was staged back in the 90s by renowned ballet master Maxim Martirosyan. 30 years later, at the initiative of Maestro Durgaryan, it has returned to the stage again, with a new lease of life.

“The Dragonfly and the Ant” is a children's ballet in 2 acts. Composer - Stepan Lusikyan, musical director and conductor - Karen Durgaryan (Honored Artist of the Republic of Armenia), conductors - Atanes Arakelyan, Raffi Mikaelyan, choreographer and librettist - David Galstyan, set designer - Avetis Barseghyan (Honored Artist of the Republic of Armenia), costume designer - Rubineh Hovhannisyan, lighting design - Yevgeny Ganzburg, 3D animation by Vahan Hovhannisyan.
