Violinist Diana Adamyan among the the finalists of Sibelius Violin Competition
The second round of the XII International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition held in Helsinki on 23–25 May presented top-class performances by young violinists from around the world. Out of 18 semi-finalists, Diana Adamyan, Yesong Sophie Lee, Nathan Meltzer, Georgii Moroz, Dmytro Udovychenko, and Inmo Yang were selected to continue to the finals held on 27–29 May at Helsinki Music Centre.

In the finals, the competitors will perform as soloists with The Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and The Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, performing two violin concertos, of which one is by Jean Sibelius and the other is volitional. The Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra will be conducted by Anna-Maria Helsing and The Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra by Dima Slobodeniouk. The competition culminates in the announcement of the winner and award ceremony on Sunday evening, 29 May.

The final round and award ceremony will be available worldwide at Yle Areena. The bilingual (Finnish and Swedish) broadcasts of the final rounds will be presented by Yle Radio 1 and on TV by Yle Teema Fem. The webcasts of the first and second rounds of the competition have already accumulated more than 1.6 million views.
