Events dedicated to Garegin Srvandztyan took place in Yerevan
A series of events dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Bishop Garegin Srvandzyan, the founder of Armenian folklore, ethnography, and a public figure, took place at the Arno Babajanyan Concert Hall.
A conference on Garegin Srvandztyan’s biography and lifetime activity took place on the Ground Floor of the “Arno Babajanyan” Concert Hall. In his welcoming speech, musicologist and supervisor of the conference Arthur Shahnazaryan stressed the importance of the conference dedicated to Srvandztyan and noted his huge role in the life of the Armenian people. "He has rediscovered our homeland for us, the Armenian people. A new period of patriotism has begun with him, "Arthur Shahnazaryan said, thanking the management of the Armenian State Philharmonia for organizing the conference.
The conference was followed by the opening of the exhibition entitled "David of Sasun and Brave Nazar". Srvandztyan's materials on the given topics were presented in the two foyers of "Arno Babajanyan" concert hall. Along with the manuscripts, the works of painters Martiros Saryan, Hakob Kojoyan, and other famous artists were displayed.
The series of events culminated with a concert at the Arno Babajanyan Concert Hall with the participation of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin Choir, the Komitas National Quartet and the Artasax Saxophone Quartet.
Let us remind you that the program was implemented by the State Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia in collaboration with the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, the National Gallery of Armenia, the National Library of Armenia and the Yeghishe Charents Museum of Literature and Art.
