Roger Kasparian, who documented Aznavour's triumphs passed away
Roger Kasparian, the renowned French-Armenian photographer often referred to as the 'Eye of the 60s' passed away. He captured iconic images of artists such as Charles Aznavour, Edith Piaf, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and many others. His special bond with Charles Aznavour, documenting the artist's triumphs at Alhambra and throughout his illustrious career, was particularly noteworthy, Aznavour Foundation reports.

In recent years, Roger Kasparian and his daughter forged a meaningful connection with the Aznavour Foundation, becoming cherished friends and supporters. His final documented work was photographing the Foundation's “Aznavour Classique” concert in Cannes on February 4th.

After the war in Artsakh in 2020, the photographer and his daughter Lydia undertook a documentary tour, capturing the aftermath of the conflict, the rubble, the pain, as well as our historical monuments. These photographs were subsequently displayed in exhibitions, providing a poignant visual testimony to the recent history of the Armenian people and their rich cultural heritage. Since this period, Roger Kasparian has regularly returned to his country of origin.
