For the first time, the Republican Solfeggio Olympiad will be held in Armenia
The first Republican Solfeggio Olympiad, "Paytporik," will take place in May-June 2025, with the support of the Republic of Armenia's Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, and the initiative of the Yerevan Sayat-Nova Music School.
During a session at the Ministry, the Olympiad's Organizing Committee, led by Deputy Minister Daniel Danielyan, approved the Olympiad's regulations and the procedure for the competition of methodological works on teaching solfeggio to be held within the Olympiad's framework.
For the first time in Armenia, this program will allow students from music and art schools in the Republic of Armenia to compete and showcase their knowledge and teaching results on the "Solfeggio."
The Olympiad is contested among seventh-year students from the republic's music and art schools. In the Republic of Armenia, approximately 170 institutions are providing extracurricular pre-professional education (music and art schools). These schools play a crucial role in cultural education, aesthetic upbringing, the overall development of children and adolescents, and the identification of gifted children in the field of musical arts. Solfeggio is vital in musical art education as it helps musicians develop their skills and abilities.
