Love songs according to Armenian rural songs
This year, the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church commemorates St. Sarkis, the intercessor of love, on January 30 (the holiday is mobile, it is celebrated 63 days before Easter, on Saturday). The church has declared the holiday a Youth Blessing Day.
Ahead of the holiday, on January 29, at 2:00 p.m. a meeting entitled "Love songs according to Armenian rural songs" will be held at Komitas Museum-Institute.
The topic of the meeting is the manifestation of the theme of love in Armenian folklore. The program is presented by Astghik Martirosyan, a researcher at the Komitas Museum-Institute. We will introduce the process of formation and dissemination of this genre, as well as information about its writers. At the end of the program, some brilliant samples of Armenian folk songs of the mentioned genre will be taught.
Admission is free. All anti-pandemic rules will be observed during the event.
The same day Komitas Museum-Institute marks its 6th anniversary Visitors will have the opportunity to see the "Ara Harutyunyan: From Komitas to Komitas "new exhibition.
