The concert-presentation of pianist Hayk Melikyan's "Laudamus" album took place at the Philharmonia
On January 29, the Babajanyan Concert Hall of the Armenian State Philharmonia hosted the concert-presentation of Laudamus, a new album by pianist, composer, and Honored Artist of the Republic of Armenia Hayk Melikyan, dedicated to the 160th anniversary of the birth of Georgy Gurdjieff. The evening brought together prominent cultural figures, as well as Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan.

The program featured works of 20th-century and contemporary music, ranging from Georgy Gurdjieff and Thomas de Hartmann to John Cage, Alexander Scriabin, and Karlheinz Stockhausen, alongside compositions by Hayk Melikyan and Vardan Harutyunyan, transporting the audience into a distinct musical dimension. A special response was received by the world premiere of Vardan Harutyunyan’s Unconscious Reflections for piano and electroacoustic voices.

Released by the prestigious British label Azure Sky Records, Laudamus marks an important milestone in Melikyan’s long-standing Gurdjieff-inspired artistic journey. The concert-presentation once again affirmed the pianist’s significant role in the high-level interpretation and popularization of 20th-century and contemporary music.
