"Hover" state chamber choir starts the year with Italian music
"Hover" state chamber choir will perform at the House of Chamber Music on January 30, at 7 p.m. The program features pieces by three Italian composers from the 16th, 17th, and 20th centuries: Carlo Gesualdo, Claudio Monteverdi, and Luciano Berio, which the choir will perform for the first time. Narine Voskanyan will lead the concert.
"Their status particularly links Gesualdo, Monteverdi, and Berio as avant-garde composers and pioneers in their respective eras. Of course, the works of the latter are linked by genre characteristics. We are discussing the madrigal genre, a piece of secular music mostly with a love-lyrical theme. Each word is communicated in music with its tone; one could even argue that music is submissive to speech and poetic ideas. According to Narine Oskanyan, Jesualdo and Monteverdi are excellent examples of this genre.
On January 30, "Hover" choir will perform nine compositions by those mentioned composers (harpsichord: Hripsime Aghakaryan).
