Hover State Chamber Choir Performs Concert of Western European Choral Music
The Hover State Chamber Choir presented a concert titled “Choral Works by Western European Composers” at the Komitas Chamber Music Hall.
The Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, Zhanna Andreasyan, attended the concert. The event was also honored by the presence of renowned composer Tigran Mansurian.
The program featured several premieres. Tigran Mesropyan served as concertmaster, and Sona Hovhannisyan conducted the choir.
The concert featured: Johann Sebastian Bach – Chorale No. 22 from the oratorio St. John Passion; Anton Bruckner – Ave Maria; Hugo Wolf – The Last Request, Renunciation; Richard Wagner – In the Greenhouse (arranged by C. Gottwald); Johannes Brahms – A German Requiem, Part IV; Wolfgang Rihm – Motets: It Has Grown Dark, You Are Sad, My Soul, They Darkened My Eyes; Caroline Shaw – To the Hands, Part III; Darius Milhaud – Babylon; Michael Ostrzyga – God Help Us; Felix Mendelssohn – Psalm No. 43, Judge Me, O God; Jaakko Mäntyjärvi – Psalm No. 43, Judge Me, O God.
