"Aram Khachatryan is the musical icon of Armenia in the world". Daniel Danielyan
With the support of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, on September 12-14, the RA National Academy of Sciences is holding an international conference entitled "Aram Khachaturian-120".
Daniel Danielyan, Deputy Minister of ESCS of RA, Ashot Saghyan, President of RA NAS, Anna Asatryan, Director of Art Institute of RA NAS, Director of Aram Khachaturian's House-Museum, Armine Grigoryan, President of Union of Composers of Armenia, Aram Satyan, participated in the opening of the conference.
The purpose of the conference is to present the current state of Khachaturian studies, to examine the creative, performing and musical-social activities of the outstanding Armenian composer, to appreciate the legacy he left behind.
Daniel Danielyan emphasized the need of hosting an international conference dedicated to Aram Khachaturian in order to revalue and popularize the composer's world-renowned legacy. Daniel Danielyan, in this regard, underlined that, with the support of the Ministry of ESCS, Armenian musicians have performed in various venues in recent months, presenting the works of a prominent Armenian.
"A composer lives as long as his music is played and his art is discussed." And Aram Khachatryan has long been Armenia's international musical business card," remarked Daniel Danielyan.
