Renowned Ars Nova Napoli performs in Yerevan

An exclusive evening of Neapolitan music took place at the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall on July 24, featuring the renowned Italian group Ars Nova Napoli.

Throughout the evening, beloved Neapolitan songs were performed, conveying the warmth and soul of the city to the audience. The Ars Nova Napoli group was in Armenia for the first time to present folk and traditional songs from southern Italy, with a new and modern interpretation.

The group members noted that although they had only been in Armenia for a day, they already felt warmly welcomed. They also observed interesting similarities, even in the music. They added that they were very impressed with Yerevan.

The group is known for its exceptional performances, blending historical heritage with a contemporary nu-folk style, jazz, and vocal-instrumental innovations.

Ars Nova Napoli was founded in 2009 on the historic streets of Naples. Driven by a love for Campanian folk music, they initially performed on the streets, sharing their music with passersby. Over time, the street became not just a performance space but a core part of their identity. Ars Nova Napoli remains dedicated to spreading folk culture and making it accessible to all.

This concert provided the audience with a unique opportunity: a cultural journey to Naples, a city where music speaks the language of love, longing, passion, and drama.

The concert was organized at the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Italy in the Republic of Armenia.

The cultural evening was attended by high-ranking officials and representatives of the diplomatic corps.
