The State Jazz Orchestra of Armenia resumes its activities after a one-year hiatus
The State Jazz Orchestra of Armenia resumes its activities after a one-year hiatus. The orchestra opened the concert season with concerts entitled "Retro Jazz". The artistic director of the Jazz Orchestra, conductor Armen Hyusnunts, presented the first half of the 20th century, the golden age of great jazz orchestras: Duke Ellington, Glen Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Artemi Ayvazyan.
Armen Hyusnunts says, after almost one year of hiatus, the orchestra resumes the series of thematic concerts in the hall of the Union of Architects of Armenia. "We prepared these concerts with great pleasure. Why people need this music today? Because it was created during a very difficult period, hoping to convey and spread a little positive energy. Of course, one performance is not enough to be able to refer to all the famous musicians and their works. Thus, we decided to make such a bouquet, as the material is very voluminous. I am especially proud that there is a special reference to the Armenian jazz school," says Armen Hyusnunts.
