Re-opening of the auditorium of Hmayak Durgaryan at Gyumri Music college
The re-opening of the auditorium named after Hmayak Durgaryan, a former college student, Honored Artist of the Republic of Armenia, violinist and conductor, took place in Gyumri Kara-Murza State Music College.
"It is an indescribable feeling when you receive such a warm reception in your hometown. I have many warm memories of my college years. Today, after so many years, it is a double honor to have such an unprecedented audience in the college that fed me. This college and the Conservatory have always made my city flourish," Durgaryan said.
The well-known musician also met with students. During the meeting, he urged them never to be satisfied with the knowledge they gain and to improve themselves constantly.
Afterward, the concert of the State Chamber Orchestra of Armenia, dedicated to Hmayak Durgaryan's 80th birthday, took place in the concert hall of Gyumri Youth House under the direction of the maestro.
The auditorium was renovated in 2020, but due to the pandemic, the opening ceremony was postponed.
