Mikhail Pletnev and Vladimir Fedoseev: two legend on the Yerevan stage
On November 17, two legendary musicians, pianist Mikhail Pletnev and conductor Vladimir Fedoseev will perform at the Aram Khachatryan concert hall. They will perform with the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia (artistic director and principal conductor: Eduard Topchյan) presenting Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 and Symphony No. 5.
Musicologists often note that Mikhail Pletnev is not only a brilliant pianist and a wonderful conductor, but also an excellent composer, in general, an artist who doesn't obey traditional classifications. He is the winner of many prestigious competitions, including the Tchaikovsky International Competition and the Grammy awardee, he has performed on the most prestigious stages of the world and with the most famous orchestras. Music critics consider him a pianist "out of competition in the performing arts".
Conductor Vladimir Fedoseev is a People's Artist of the USSR, the artistic director and chief conductor of the P. Tchaikovsky State Academic Symphony Orchestra (since 1974), he was also the chief conductor of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra (1997-2006), the Zurich Opera permanent guest conductor (since 1997), first guest conductor of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra (since 2000), Bavarian Radio Symphony (Munich), guest conductor of the French National Radio Philharmonic Orchestras (Paris).
The concert will take place in cooperation with the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia and the Primavera Foundation.
