"Songs of Wisdom": works based on Kostandin Yerznkatsi's poetry
On January 21, at 7 p.m. in Arno Babajanyan Concert Hall Naghash ensemble will present John Hodyan's new compositions.
The program will include works from the song collection "Songs of Wisdom" based on the poems of the 13th-century Armenian poet Kostandin Yerznkatsi, as well as from the "Songs of Exile".  Music by John Hodyan, lyrics by Konstandin Yerznkatsi (13th century) and Mkrtich Naghash (15th century).

Composer John Hodian's Naghash Ensemble combines the earthy spirituality of Armenian folk song, new classical music, contemporary post-minimalism and the energy of rock and jazz. Three brilliant female vocalists and some of Armenia’s finest instrumentalists on duduk, oud, dhol and piano play new music based on sacred texts by the medieval Armenian mystic poet and priest, M’krtich Naghash.

"Naghash" ensemble artists: Hasmik Baghdasaryan (soprano), Tatevik Movsesyan (soprano), Arpine Ter-Petrosyan (contralto), Harutyun Chkolyan (duduk, shvi, pku), Aramayis Nikoghosyan (oud), Tigran Hovhannisyan (dhol, daf) and John Hodyan (piano).
