"National Center of Folk Music and Dance" founded in Armenia
By the decision of the RA Government session held on September 16, 2022, the  "State Dance Ensemble of Armenia",  "Barekamutyun State Ensemble" and "Տ․ Altunyan State Song-Dance Ensemble" will be operated under the newly created "National Center of Folk Music and Dance" state non-profit organization. Also, three folk groups managed by the "State Philharmonia" -  " Folk instruments ensemble of Armenia", " Folk Songs State Ensemble " and "Akunk" Ethnographic Ensemble named after Maro Muradyan will join the organization.

According to the Ministry of ESCS, the new organization will help to combine and concentrate both professional and financial resources. Accordingly, it will be possible to conduct a more balanced policy in terms of increasing the organization's own income and remuneration for work. With the inclusion of professional staff, it is planned to significantly increase the level of public recognition of these collectives. This initiative also aims to raise the public profile of folk music and dance significantly.
