Jean-Paul Gasparian and the Bern Symphony Orchestra recorded Babajanyan's "Heroic Ballad"

Jean-Paul Gasparian and the Bern Symphony Orchestra recorded Babajanyan's "Heroic Ballad"
French-Armenian pianist, Steinway artist Jean-Paul Gasparian and the Bern Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor Stefan Blunier recorded Arno Babajanyan's "Heroic Ballad". According to the pianist's page, the album also includes Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto N. 2.

"After dedicating two of my three solo recordings to Rachmaninoff's repertoire, his Second Piano Concerto - a masterpiece I have been working on, maturing, and refining for more than ten years - seemed like a quite natural choice to me, and the culmination of a long personal journey. On the other hand, I am also very proud to present the very first recording of Babadjanian's Heroic Ballad with a western orchestra: I hope that this album will contribute to making it more well-known among music lovers and help shed light on its richness, originality and emotional power of Babadjanian's compositions", the pianist says. The CD has released by the Claves label.

Jean-Paul Gasparian
has given recitals at important festivals, among them : Festival de la Roque d’Anthéron, Nohant Festival Chopin, Piano aux Jacobins, Flâneries de Reims (broadcasted live on Medici.tv), Printemps des Arts de Monte-Carlo, Festival Radio-France de Montpellier, Festival de Menton, Kissinger Sommer Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Festival, Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad, and has played in venues such as the Salzburg Mozarteum, Bremen’s Die Glocke, Belgrade’s Kolarac, Tonhalle Zürich, Hamburg’s Laeiszhalle, the Salle Flagey in Brussels, the Salle Molière in Lyon, the Auditorium de l'Opéra de Bordeaux, the Louis Vuitton Foundation (broadcasted live on Radio Classique), the Maison de la Radio, the Salle Cortot and Salle Gaveau in Paris.
